2/2/2002 - Man I can't beleive it's been a week since my last update. Well I've got lots of news, so kick off your boots and pull up a chair!

Where to start? First off, Gusher has done some really impressive skinning work on our guns. For those of you keeping score: the Colt, Remington, S&W, shotgun, sawed-off shotgun, and one of the Winchester rifles, have all been skinned! So go on over to the Weapons page, and check out the new guns.

Along the same line, NikelOxide has gotten some animation sequences for the Colt finished, and we're now working on getting them into the game. Of course, I'm sure he'd appreciate some help, so if there's any animators out there looking to get your name in lights, please give us a buzz.

Also we have a new team member! Nempo will be joining us as a coder, and has already gotten right to work squishing some bugs in the code. Everybody say Howdy!

And finally, we're still in the moving process. Archimedes has finished the layout of the new site. But, we've run into a bit of a snag with mySQL support, so it's taking a little longer than anticipated. (Isn't that alwasys how it works?) But, as soon as we're up we'll let you know.

Well that's about it. And, remember to go on over to the Weapons page and see our new guns.

1/25/2002 - We've gotten two more guns skinned! Voodoo's finished the shotgun. And Gusher, from Prefab Lab, has generously donated his time and skinned the sawed-off shotgun for us. Both guns can be seen over on our weapons page. And both guys are hard at work skinning the reast of the weapons! So we'll being seeing more great stuff from both of them soon!

In other news, we've also been mentioned in GameSpy's Daily Newsletter. Which means by nowm thousands of gamers have heard of this mod. And they won't be dissapointed!

Go check out Gusher's other work at Prefab Lab!

1/25/2002 - Well Archimedes is busy creating our new website. You'll be able to see the new and improved version when we move over to UnitedGaming.net, which will be happening next week.

In other news, we've had another map submitted to Badlands. This one is called DustTown, by Maniac. It's looking good, and he should have the final version done real soon. Some cool screenshots can be seen over on the preview page.

1/24/2002 - Wow, we've got news! First off, things are really taking off, we've been mentioned both at PlanetUnreal and ModSquad since our interview at MPZ.

We also had a new member join the ranks. Archimedes will be our new webmaster, taking over for me. Finally. ;-)

Which brings us to the last topic. UnitedGaming.net has offered to host our site. So we're beginning the moving process. Stay tuned for details, our new site is going to rock!

1/23/2002 - Well big news over here at Badlands. I just got done doing an interview with SimonG from MPZ. He's posted the interview on his site, so check it out. Sounds like the word's getting out! Just hit the link below to read the interview.

Read the interview with SimonG from MPZ!

1/20/2002 - Just a small update today. I've finished adding the new crosshairs to the HUD, and I've put up screenshots on the preveiw page. So go on over and have a look.

1/17/2002 - This is actually two updates in one. First off, many people have requested more screenshots from us. Well, we aim to please. Check out the previews page for loads of new map screenshots. And, as always, you can download some preview maps right now.

Secondly we're getting a lot closer to the a final version of our new HUD, and we've also got a few preview screenshots of that on the previews page. Enjoy.

1/11/2002 - Well, Voodoo's gotten right to work. He's now the lead skinner for the team, and has already finished skinning the Colt, and has moved on to the other guns. So, check out the Colt on the Weapons page, and stay tuned for more updates!

1/3/2002 - Hope everybody enjoyed the Holidays, mine were certainly hectic. But, playtime's over and we're all back to work. ; ) Here at Badlands we got a great Christmas present- two new Modelers! ShAwn and Voodoo have joined the team and are ready to start cranking out some great weapon models. So, if all goes according to plan, we'll start preliminary beta-testing in the very near future.

12/14/2001 - Well, a big thanks goes out to Tim Stetzer, from the WQ3 team, who emailed me about some "historical discrepancies" I had with my original weapon list. So, after talking with him and considering the various pros and cons, I've modified our weapon list. Including removing one gun, and adding two others. So go on over to the weapons page and see the new stuff.

12/9/2001 - Anyone who's downloaded and played DM-Sundown knows that the map had major performance problems. Well, SoulStripper's fixed it, and it runs great. So, go download the new version now!

12/7/2001 - Well, we've got some screenshots of two of the new maps SoulStripper's working on. Check them out on the Downloads page.

12/6/2001 - Well, some real progress is being made. We've got three new team-members. Mark George aka SoulStripper, the author of the maps on our downloads page has offically joined the team. And he's got another great map, DM-NoName, in the works. Shawn aka Wicked, is also a great mapper, and is working on a map based on a scene from the movie Silverado (The greatest western EVER!). And Trevor aka John Doe is going to finish animating and skinning the weapon models, yeah! PLUS, Mark Forsyth has generously donated his Texx 2.0 player model to the cause, so go download it! Now!

12/5/2001 - Thanks to Mr.Mitchell we now have maps available for download. Woohoo! These maps were made by Mark "SoulStripper" George, and are beautiful. Although with DM-Sundown, you're going to need to turn down your video settings to get a decent FPS. And thanks to NeoXAngelus for the cool 2D logos. Thanks guys.

12/03/2001 - Well, work continues. Which is a good thing. I've completed the weapon models, but not the animations or skins. So, I'm still looking for help from a real modeler. Please!!! For now my plan is to do some pretty heavy recruiting, and work primarily on the code. Once I've got the code 90% done, and if I still don't have a real modeler, I'll go ahead and learn how to skin myself... lol. Well, on the bright side, I'm learning a heck of alot about game development. :-)

12/01/2001 - I'd like to welcome Mr.Mitchell to the Badlands corral. He's been a great guy, giving me advice, motivation, and such. Now he's going to help us as an official Beta tester, if we ever have one... j/k, it's going to happen. In the meantime check out his other project AirFight UT. It's a unique air combat simulator using the unreal engine.

Check out AirFight UT here!

11/14/2001 - We're back! After a small hiatus, Badlands has risen from the dead. And, some real progress is being made. We're not giving any predictions on when a Beta will be available, but its coming. If you're interested in being a beta tester, let me know. The biggest piece of good news is that the 3D models are finally getting made. Yeah! Some examples can be seen on the Weapons page. They aren't skinned yet, but we wanted to post them now, just to show something is happening. So stay tuned and we'll keep it rolling.
