Mister, you ever seen what a Henry Rifle can do in the hands of
someone who knows how to use it? - Malachi Johnson, Silverado

Below are all the weapons that will be available in Unreal Badlands. They are divided into 4 categories;
Revolvers, Explosives, Melee Weapons, and Rifles & Shotguns.

So, far 90% of the weapon models are done. As the others are finished we'll post the pics on this page, so stay tuned!

Revolvers

Colt Peacemaker

The Colt Peacemaker is probably the most famous gun of the old west, and it was certainly the most popular of the period. The Colt has good accuracy and firepower, making it a good all-around pistol.

The Colt is the default weapon in Badlands.

Smith & Wesson Schofield "Wells Fargo" Model

While not as well known as the Peacemaker, the S&W Schofield was a very popular revolver of the period. It featured a unique break-top design that greatly reduced reloading time. Called the "Wells Fargo", because it was issued to Wells Fargo Co. stagecoach and railcar guards. But because the Wells Fargo model had a shorter barrel, and fired a smaller round than the Colt, it wasn't quite as powerful a revolver as the Colt.

Remington Model 1858 Outlaw

The Remington was a very popular revolver of it's day. It was a "cap-n-ball" revolver. This means that each chamber in the cylinder was loaded with loose black powder and a lead ball, and a percussion cap was placed at the hammer-end of each chamber. This meant that reloading most ball and cap revolvers was a slow and tedious process. The Remington was revolutionary. Its design allowed the entire cylinder to be removed, and another preloaded one could then be inserted in it's place. This made it possible to actually reload a cap and ball gun during a gunfight, something not many others could claim. And because of its large, heavy frame, and large cylinder, the Outlaw could handle quite powerful blackpowder loads, making it a very powerful handgun.

Melee Weapons

Bowie Knife

Bowie Knife

(Model by Cookie, Skinned by Gusher)

The Bowie is a versatile and deadly weapon. In Badlands it is used as a melee weapon, but can also be thrown for a ranged attack.

Pickaxe

(Picture coming soon!)

Like the Bowie knife, a Pickaxe is normally used as a melee weapon, but it can be thrown at an opponent. And, because of it's larger size, the Pickaxe has better reach and greater hitting power than a Bowie knife. But, this large size also limits the amount a player can carry.

Cavalry Sabre

(Picture coming soon!)

The sabre has the best reach, and does the most damage, of all of Badland's melee weapons. However, unlike the bowie knife and pickaxe, a sabre cannot be thrown, and a player may only carry one at a time.

Explosives

Dynamite

(Picture coming soon!)

Dynamite is a devastaing weapon. It causes lots of damage over a wide area. However, if you're timing's bad, or your aim is off, be prepared to be mocked by your so-called "friends".

Jug o' Moonshine

(Picture coming soon!)

It ain't for drinking. Light one of these jugs, send it sailing, and watch your opponents scatter. Moonshine doesn't create as large an explosion as dynamite, but it does start lots of nasty fires. This is great for clearing rooms, or discouraging pursuit.

Rifles, Carbines, & Shotguns

Winchester Model 1894 Carbine

The Model 1894 was the last (and most would say greatest) lever-action rifle produced by Winchester. It was a culminatation of over 30 years of innovation and refinement. Accurate and deadly, the 1894 is a truly great rifle still used to this day by hunters the world over.

Winchester Model 1866 "Yellowboy" Rifle

Another full-size pic!

The "Yellowboy", as the Model 1866 was known, was the successor to the legendary Henry Rifle. It's essentially the same rifle, however it featured a few improvements, such as an improved reloading mechanism which made reloading much easier and faster, and even made reloading from horseback possible. It also featured a wooden fore-grip which allowed the gun to be handled even after repeated firing. The Yellowboy (so named because of the bright brass frame) became quite a legend of the Old-West. Introduced when black powder muzzle-loaders were still common, it was truly a revolutionary design, being able to fire 17 rounds before reloading.

Winchester Model 1873 Carbine

Also known as "The Gun that Won the West", the Model 1873 is the most popular Winchester ever produced. Winchester carbines were much shorter than the rifles, and were designed to be fired from horeseback. Because of their short length and light weight, this made them quick and responsive weapons. The 1873 Carbine features several improvements over the 1866 Yellowboy model, including a more powerful cartridge. While not able to hold as many rounds as the Yellowboy (17 vs 12), the Carbine fires faster, and does slightly more damage with each hit.

Winchester Model 1886 Rifle

As Settlers moved West, they encountered much larger game than was found in the East. So, they demanded much larger guns than were then available. Winchester answered the call with the Model 1876, which was chambered for a much larger round than found in previous models. However, many considered the 1876 unrealiable and even dangerous. So, the Model 1886 rifle was released, and it had many improvements over the 1876. It was much more reliable, and the 1886 went on to become one of the most popular Winchester models, ever.

Sharp's Frontier Rifle

(Picture coming soon!)

Sharp Rifles were so famed for their accuracy that the term "sharpshooter" can be traced directly back to these guns. Designed for bringing down American Buffalo and other big game on the wide-open Great Plains, the Sharp's Frontier Rifle is the most powerful and accurate weapon available in Unreal Badlands. It biggest drawback is that a single rifle cartridge must be loaded into the breech for each shot, which makes its rate-of-fire very slow.

Double-Barreled Shotgun

More Views of the Shotgun!

Shotguns were everywhere in the old-west. Since a shotgun uses buckshot, which spreads after it leaves the barrel, accuracy isn't critical. This has always made shotguns a popular choice. It also makes shotguns devastating at close range, especially if both barrels are fired simultaneously. However, hitting power drops as range increases, making a shotgun a poor choice for long-range gunfights.

Sawed-Off Shotgun

Top View

The sawed-off shotgun is essentially a very short shotgun. The shorter barrels allow the buckshot to spread rapidly, creating a much larger pattern than with a regular shotgun. This makes it a very devastating weapon at close range, but, it also severely limits it's effective range.
